Quick and Easy Traditional Almond Nougat

Quick and easy recipe to make homemade gifts for holidays! This recipe for almond nougat produces a chewy , milky, sweet confection studded with crunchy almonds.

I love soft and chewy nougat. Most of the time all i can find is those hard kind and so i decided to try making it myself. Not too bad for you either as desserts go since it starts with mashmallow and includes skim milk powder and almond nuts. Feel free to make it your own with any mix ins from all kinds of nuts, fruits or chocolate. Place 150g mashmallows in a greased medium bowl and microwave for 1min. Add skim milk powder , almond powder and chopped almonds and work quickly and ensure all ingredients are combined and coated with the melted mashmallows evenly. Place baking paper on a work surface, roll and flatten the nougat and cut in pieces with a knife and wrap with baking paper, store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. This recipe was adapted from Bon Appetit !!!

I made it twice now and it was gone in seconds! I half the mashmallows and doubled the milk powder and it tasted great, nice and chewy how i like it, almonds are awsome for nougat, but pistarchio are even better! Is so yummy!
